Giant Tomato Trees

This past planting season we tried out a new type of tomato plant that we had seen on television one night. The Tomato Tree. This tomato plant says that their plants can grow up to 8 feet tall! And produce tomatoes of up to 2lbs in weight. Needless to say we were very skeptical to hear that we could grow a giant 8 foot tall tomato plant. But for $10 we decided to try them out anyway since the idea seemed pretty fun. Plus who doesn’t want to grow 2lbs tomatoes!
We were pleased to see that with our order we got 3 more plants making it 6 tomato plants in total. If they all did well we were going to have a tomato orchard on our hands. But because we had all of our normal tomatoes testing our upside down product reviews we only planted 1 of our giant tomato trees.
The results were pretty shocking as we watched this tiny plant grow and grow and grow to a 7 foot tall tomato tree! Much to our surprise the tomatos that grew on our massive plant were also way bigger than normal tomatoes. Our biggest tomato weighed just in under 2lbs and was about 7” in diameter.
Just as advertised we had a giant tomato plant and giant tomatoes. But how did they taste? Could we eat them? We opted on turning our giant green tomatoes into yummy fried green tomatoes and a few of the red ones into slices for sandwiches. They ended up tasting pretty good for giant tomatoes. No way as good as our prime crop of award winners but just as good as most store bought tomatoes.
Because of our great results we are recommending to all of our readers to try our these amazing giant tomato trees. They really do grow as big as they say and you can’t beat only paying $10.00 for 6 tomato plants. A great deal considering each plant may produce up to 60Lbs of tomatoes!
